The soprano Elena Mosuc has one of the most beautiful contemporary voices. Her full, round and warm voice, the acute notes and the amazing clarity and stability of her notes range, the realist interpretation of the characters, her passion and expressive manner impressed up to tears (and this is not a metaphor!) the most exigent musicians.

She was born in Iasi, Romania; after she graduated from the Pedagogic High-school, she started working as a teacher and in parallel continued studying in the Popular Art School. She enrolled afterwards for the „George Enescu Conservatory“, but the international recognition came earlier, in 1991, when she won the First prize at the International music Contest organised by ARD German Broadcasting Station in Munich and the same First Prize at the same year Contest organised in Monte Carlo. On the Bucharest stages she debuted in 1992.

In November 1993 she won the „European Furtherance Prize for Music“ and at the end of 1995 she received the Prize „Bellini d'Oro“. She became then a main singer in the Zürich Opera. She lives now in Zürich.

Elena Mosuc performed on the great stages of the world, of the Opera in Zürich, Munich, Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna, Luxemburg, Paris, Amsterdam, Verona, London, as well as in Japan and China, either as first main singer, under the leadership of famous directors: Sir Colin Davis, David Zinman, Michael Gielen, Eliahu Inbal, Bruno Campanella, Leopold Hager, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Nello Santi, Ralf Weikert, Franz Welser-Moest, or in famous company like: Plàcido Domingo, Christoph von Dohnányi, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Paolo Carignani, Rafael Fruehbeck de Burgos, Adam Fischer and Marcello Viotti, in roles no less famous: Konstanze, Donna Anna, Elisetta, Lucia, Violetta, Luisa, Gilda, Elvira, Linda, Sophie, Zerbinetta, Musetta, Antonida, Micaëla, Aminta, Olympia, Antonia and Giulietta.

In June 2003 she successfully debuted at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in the role „The Queen of the Night“ (sang all over the world until August 2003 for 240 times). She performed, also, in many concerts and shows in Romania: in Iasi, Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, once or twice a year.
