Introduction from the author

In What to do in Switzerland booklet we hope to give you some idea of the vast range of excursions and activities on hand. All the celebrated and touristy places are included but very often the most rewarding destinations are those off the beaten track which are discovered by chance - so the emphasis lies on them, particularly as they don’t always appear in the ‘real’ Guidebooks. Our fifth edition has been completely revised and expanded with several exciting new sections. Space doesn’t permit full directions to each location but web site details and telephone numbers are given wherever possible. We’ve indicated the canton for each entry so that you will have some idea of distances. An asterisk (*)indicates a highly recommended option.

Further suggestions and corrections are very welcome on e-mail. Many thanks to all those who have already recommended their favourite trips for inclusion here. Once again we are indebted to De Beers for generously making their photocopying facilities available.

Romanians' House of Switzerland is very grateful to the author of the guide for her kindness, support and consideration..
