Message of dr. Vasile Secares:
The spring 2003 NATO enlargement, together with the prospective EU enlargement are creating a true geo-political revolution in the South-Eastern Europe region.
The concept of „South-Eastern Europe“ itself has started to designate a new geopolitical and strategic reality altogether. This area lies up to the Southern Caucasus and the Caspian Sea, including Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaidjan.
Under these circumstances, the Euro-Atlantic area has started to have a new security border and therefore a new security agenda. And consequently, the NATO and EU policy becomes increasingly important towards the adjacent areas, capable of generating insecurity factors.
